The Journey
A short chronology. We started in 2025 with one loom, one rack, and one stubborn idea. Here’s how we got from there to here.
To whoever is reading this —
When we started The West Fox in 2025, I had one small ambition: to make a Hawaiian shirt I’d actually want to wear. Not a costume. Not a novelty. A real, good shirt — the kind that fits well in the shoulders, drapes easily at the hem, and prints that feel like they belong on a shirt, not on a postcard.
That sounds modest, and maybe it is. But most of the shirts I’d owned before didn’t quite meet it. They were either too loud, too stiff, or too hurried. I wanted to make something slower. Something you could reach for on a Saturday and still feel right on a Wednesday.
So we opened the atelier in Hanoi. We started with a single pattern and a small team. We printed the first run ourselves — badly, at first. Then better. Then, eventually, well enough to send to strangers.
The brand has grown since then, which still surprises me. What hasn’t changed is the approach: cut generous, print in-house, ship with care, and treat everyone who buys a shirt like a person — not a transaction.

A Small Workshop In Long Bien.
Every West Fox shirt is cut and printed at our atelier in Hanoi — a modest space with good light, a careful team, and an un-hurried pace. Nothing about how we work is scalable by design. That’s the point.
Pattern & Draft
Every cut starts on paper. Our Resort Fit pattern was redrafted seven times before the first shirt was sewn. Generous in the body, considered at the shoulder, honest to scale S through 8XL.
Print In-House
We print every panel ourselves — no licensed mills, no mass runs, no mystery upstream factories. The trade-off: we can only make so many shirts a week. We’ve made peace with that.
Cut, Sew, Check
Each shirt is cut on the table, sewn at the machine, and inspected by a second pair of eyes before it leaves the atelier. If something isn’t right, it doesn’t ship. That’s the whole rule.

Every West Fox shirt is cut and graded S through 8XL from day one — not as an afterthought, not at a markup. Real bodies come in real sizes. Our size chart does too. — Inclusive by Default
